The Pointers women's varsity volleyball team has had an impressive season this year! Making it all the way to state CIF championships, the volleyball team maintains their dominant legacy. For the past 3 years, the team has made it to state. After an untimely leg injury, 4 year varsity player Sierra Caffo returned for playoffs to lead the Pointers. Sierra
Caffo is also an LSU beach volleyball commit. Co-Captain, Maggie Wolf, is
excited to take the reigns of the varsity squad. After finishing the season with an 18-17 record, Coach Paul Araiza is proud! During what would be their final CIF match, they played Culver High School. Although they lost all 3 of their sets, they never lost their spirit. After the season, Sierra Caffo showed love and passion for our volleyball team when she said, “This season I got closer to everyone on the team and the bond we created made us a stronger team than any of us expected to be.” We can’t wait to see our amazing Lady Pointers on the court again next year!
The season might be over for the indoor team, but beach volleyball is coming around in the spring. Although considered a club, the Lady Pointers have proved to be a force to reckon with as multiple college commits have found their roots in the sands of Ocean Beach, where they practice. A couple would include UCLA commit Maddie Yeoman, TCU commit Hailey Brockett, Stanford Commit Charlie Ekstrom, and most recently LSU commit Sierra Caffo.
