Climate change and global warming has been a hot topic in today’s society, with new news coming out about how long we as people have to turn all this around. Everyday a new animal is near extinction, and California has more wildfires every month.

Artist are using their popularity and place in society to openly talk about this big issue that is commonly ignored. Lil’Dicky is no stranger to this. He recently created a music video in which many celebrities portrayed an animal. For example, Justin Bieber portrays a baboon. Each animal explains their place in earth or says an interesting fact about themselves.

The song is catchy, sure, but is also a great example of what music should really contain: important issues. Other stars like Ariana Grande (who portrays a Zebra) said she had a good time recording her part in the video. According to Lil’Dicky in an interview about his song, he said they recorded her voice in her dressing room and it only took one take. Other stars like Shawn Mendes (rhinos), Snoop Dogg (cannabis), and Sia (kangaroo) claimed that this song was one to remember. The graphics in the video are shockingly amazing, almost like a Dreamworks production. Lil’Dicky even adds some current news about global warming in the beginning of the video so we can think more about the reality in which we live.

At the end of the video, Lil’Dicky mentions Leonardo Dicaprio who, if you don’t know, is a very big advocate for earth preservation. “This might be my favorite song ever,” Leo says in the video, which helps Lil’Dicky’s song in the popularity polls.

One thing I love the most about this song is when Justin says “Are we gonna die?” and Lil’Dicky responds, “You know what, Bieber? We might die...I'm not going to lie to you, I mean, there's so many people out here who don't think global warming's a real thing. You know? We gotta save this planet We're being stupid,” and Ariana replies, “Unless we get our sh*t together, now.” In my opinion, it’s one of the best endings to a song. The song and video have more than 120M views and maybe half of them were me. If you haven't seen this video, you have to! It’s a wonderful video with great graphics and a great message.
