Happy holidays, Pointers! Want to get into the holiday spirit this year? Here are some ideas.
Get a Christmas tree and decorate it
Watch holiday movies (Such as Elf, Home Alone [all 4 in the Home Alone series], A Christmas Story, or It’s a Wonderful Life)
Dress-up your dog in a holiday sweater
Read a book by the fire and drink hot cocoa
Go ice skating (there’s an ice rink at Liberty Station!)
Bake cookies or holiday recipes with your family and friends
Write letters to your family members that are out of town
Host a Secret Santa/gift exchange party
Make DIY ornaments and decorate your house
Light candles with holiday scents (evergreen, peppermint, cinnamon, vanilla, etc.)
Go Christmas caroling
Listen to holiday music and sing along
Write a Christmas song or a song about the holiday cheer
Decorate your stocking
Go gift shopping for others
Make homemade gifts/cards
Donate canned food to food drive organizations
Take photos of winter scenery
Hang Christmas lights
Spread the holiday cheer by leaving random notes of kindness where people will find them in your neighborhood (ex. on windshields of cars)
Throw a holiday party
Drive around the neighborhood streets and admire the Christmas light displays
Do small random acts of kindness and generosity (offer to volunteer at shelters or hospitals, brighten someone’s day with a compliment, or donate unneeded items to those who need them)
One of the best things about the holidays is all the excitement, cheer, and the feeling of warmth that this time brings. Enjoy life in the moment and make the most of the time you spend with family and friends!
