Girls varsity lacrosse has come to the end of its brilliant season. With an overall record of 11-8, the girls ended with their best season record yet. The team, coached by Coach Sabs, was led by their three senior captains: Laney Steingrebe (#14), Teresa Gailey (#9) and Evelyn Ha (#11). Their top goal scorer, Heather Hirsch (Junior; #6),ended with a total of 64 goals. Their last game, against Academy of Our Lady of Peace on May 7th, ended in a 12-5 victory.

Most the players agreed that their favorite game from this season was against Olympian, ending 7-5 to PL. The home game on Monday, April 29th was very exciting. Our Lady Pointers came back from a 4-0 deficit at halftime to win the game 7-5, defended by the goalkeeper Justine Bogle (#30). Bogle kept all but one of the shots out in the second half. The rival Eagles were attacked viciously by our main offensive players: Heather (#6), Julia (#17), Teresa (#9), and Mackenzi (#26) They all scored goals adding up to seven by the end of the game.📷

Girls lacrosse came to Point Loma in 2010 and there was only a varsity team up until this year (when they introduced a JV team). JV found its success from unstoppable support and team love from varsity. Varsity found their success through teamwork and skill. Overall, Point Loma women’s lacrosse is predicted to grow throughout the years and we can’t wait for it! PLHS! PLHS! PL! PL! PL! WOOF.📷
