The holiday season has arrived and many people are probably wondering what festive activities are available during this time, and how to stay safe with the COVID-19 restrictions in place.
Some of these safe ideas include attending drive through parades and events such as:
The Drive Thru Lights Extravaganza at Del Mar FairGrounds, which takes place from December 5 - January 2 from 5:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M..
The Enchanted Village Drive Thru in East County, which is from December 18 to December 23 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Virtual dinners with family and virtual events are also a great way to connect with loved ones. One example is the Virtual Santa Run, from December 12 through December 25.
Holiday movie nights or activities with friends and family include:
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas Musical on the Radio on Christmas Eve at 6:00 P.M.
Jingle Roast at The Del from December 11 through December 27 from 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M..
Some activities that aren't recommended and won't be happening this year include indoor events, ice skating, carnivals, festivals, and live entertainment. The holiday celebrations that are allowed should still include social distancing and mask-wearing. This season is going to be an adjustment for all and we are going to have to let go of some of our normal traditions, but if we want a COVID-free 2021, then those extra precautions and cancellation of events are necessary.
