PLHS Varsity Men’s Basketball Season

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

When the fall season is coming to an end, it marks the beginning of basketball season. Last year, our varsity Pointers ended the year with a record of 17 wins and 9 losses, a winning percentage of .654, well above .500. If you aren’t that big of a basketball person, let’s just say that’s a pretty good record! At the beginning of the 2018-2019 season, our varsity Pointers blew everyone away winning their first 5 games and ended the first half of the season with 9 wins and 4 losses.

The second half of the season had a similarly amazing start with our Pointers, winning their first 4 games and ending the second half with 8 wins and 5 losses, marking the end of the season. Though sad to see some of our varsity basketball Pointers go, with the new season soon approaching, some familiar faces are excited for the season to start.

Senior Tyler Morris, a returning varsity player, was optimistic entering the season.

“I think that we’re going to do pretty well this season. This year we have a lot of varsity guys returning so that will definitely help out experience-wise.”

Many others share the same excitement that Tyler does for the season. The Pointers are currently battling away and being competitive, and conclude their regular season schedule at Serra High School on Thursday, February 13th.
